Are You Clear on Loading Bay Rules?

UK van drivers have been hit by £1.7 million in fines in the past three years.

An average of 13000 fines handed out a year.

Lack of clarity leads to a 23% success rate in challenges to fines.

Drivers in Glasgow are 2.5 times as likely to be fined than in Manchester.

Van drivers are allowed to stop at a loading bay to drop off or collect goods.

If a vehicle is left unattended, it needs to be clear (through the use of hazards for example) that goods are being loaded and unloaded.

The time limits for loading is set by individual councils.

They cannot be used for collecting or dropping off passengers.
