10 everyday driving mistakes infographic
Every day drivers make little mistakes, both in the way that they drive, as well as how they use their cars. The following infographic may help refresh your memory on what you need to do to maintain your car, as well as drive safely on the roads.
Distance in Traffic
When stopping behind another car, always make sure that you can see their bumper. This means that if someone goes into the back of you, you will not get launched into the car in front of you.
Use button shortcuts
Make full use of the steering wheel mounted controls. These can help to keep your eyes on the road and result in less accidents. You should give your full attention to the road in front of you when driving.
Check your tyres
Keeping tyres in good condition is important. You should check them once a month to maintain safe tyre pressure and tread.
Blind spots
Be aware of other drivers blind spots. Doing so will reduce accidents, road-rage and prevent you from causing issues when emergency vehicles are trying to pass you.
Sitting correctly
Just because something is comfortable doesn’t mean it is right. Your left leg should not be fully extended when your foot is on the clutch. Your arms should not be fully extended when your hands are in the 10 to 2 position. Your headrest should be inline with your head.
Poor signalling
At roundabouts, signal to turn off just as you pass the penultimate exit. If your exit is more than 80 degrees from your entry point, indicate right.
